Pelican privacy policy
Pelican is a private companion app for one household's self-hosted Jellyfin media
server. It is not a public service and has no users outside that household.
What the app collects
- Your Jellyfin username and password, sent once to the household's
pygmy server over HTTPS to sign you in. The password is not stored on the phone;
a session cookie is, so you stay signed in.
- Which items you subscribed to and which you have watched. Watched
state is reported back to the Jellyfin server so it stays in sync with your other devices.
- Downloaded video files, kept in the app's private storage on the
phone and deleted when watched or when you sign out or uninstall.
What it does not do
- No analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No data is shared with any third party. The only server the app talks to is the
household's own pygmy/Jellyfin server.
- No access to contacts, location, photos or other device data.
Deleting your data
Signing out removes the session and downloaded files; uninstalling removes everything
on the phone. Server-side account data is managed by the household's Jellyfin
administrator.
